But it looks like the Otakon amv contest is shaping up just as I expected... badly run.

So when you have a very important list of finalists to announce, what do you do? Well, here's what Otakon did - lets see if it's wise or not.

1) Slowly over the course of a weekend tell creators individually in person that they are on the list, leaving creators desperate to know if they have or not whilst their peers gloat.

2) Finally post the "official" list of finalist even though some creators knew they were in a few days ago

3) Ooops accidentally miss one (or maybe more) creators from the list after you told them in person!

4) MEGA WHOOOPS find out that you have to CUT someone from the list because you've included too many videos!!!

OMFG.

I'm sorry Geoff, I know you are new to this... but come on, don't give someone a list to post on every forum going if it's not correct!!

I really hope they dont have to cut a video, it's going to be such a kick in the face to whoever thought they were in the final.

Edit: If what Quu has just informed me holds true it seems that noone will be cut and that they will work around it.

Yeah I read the list and didn't see Will's name even though he got a call. I was sorta scared since I heard others got calls and I didn't get one...oh well.

Well exedore apparently called Geoff and asked about mine and apparnetly I got a really high score and am in. Not that it's *that* big of a deal or that I need to "prove it."

If anything, I was a bit annoyed he called him about that when I could've just waited. I didnt' even inquire. Oh well...we'll see who (if anyone) gets the boot. I hope no one.

It makes me wonder if my initial exclusion was really an "oversight"

I was just annoyed that exedore was sorta doing that for me when I hadn't asked. I didn't like having some "inside track" (i.e. some getting calls and some not).
