Student food of the gods.
Sometimes the simple student life meals are the most satisfying. Especially after a long day of expanding young minds.
Sardines, brushed with mustard and grilled for 1/2 mins (just until they sizzle, shouldnt be cooked for too long)
Big-ass flat mushrooms (one or two), fried in butter
Toast, 2 slices.
Sardines on one slice of toast, topped with lemon juice; the mushrooms and the butter on the other slice with lots of cracked black pepper.
Satisfaction.

(oh and it's not a sandwich - it's two different things-on-toast)

Of course, I don't doubt there are some people who would turn their noses up on what I most frequently put on toast- peanut butter, a dash of splenda and cinnamon. Yum- the perfect snack before a morning swim. :)

Basically, I got the idea to try and make cinnamon toast using peanut butter instead of butter, since I was already eating peanut butter on toast for an energy boost before my swims and though I'd make it a bit more flavorful. It does sound like it would be good on a croissant- but I imagine the low-carb/high-protein bread I use is a bit better for my purposes in this case. ;)

And I don't know what kindof peanut butter you get - but if you use the brands that are already sweetened - adding Splenda is disgusting. I don't like peanut butter, or most breads.
I also don't like fish. So sardines are out. I tried mushrooms and they're good, but not something I'd go out of my way to eat.
And I usually hate butter.
But guacamole is good! My favorite sandwiches are (well, two of them are wraps) falafel (sp?), a BLT on an untoasted kaiser roll, and this thing that has roasted eggplant, guacamole, hummus, tomato and God knows what else inside it.
I think I like fruity pebbles better than most foods out there. Still... I don't even add sweetner to coffee or tea. But peanut butter?!
