I saw this one floating around and it seemed like a pretty good excuse for uploading some random music. I think the meme is credited to [livejournal.com profile] calikali but I stole it from [livejournal.com profile] sdwolfpup.

A song that wakes you up in the morning.

Radio by Rancid

A song you loved in high school.

Ruby Soho by Rancid

OK how about something that isn't by Rancid?

War Pigs by Black Sabbath. I was into Sabbath in a big way when I was 16.

A song that mentions a dead celebrity.

Andy Warhol by David Bowie

A song you'd be embarrassed to listen to with your grandmother.

Dirty by Tom Zacharias. Because it's degenerate filth. I could get away with listening to the swedish version of this song though.

A song that MTV will never play in a million, billion years.

Camp Blackfoot - Exorcismo di Paulo (not only because there isn't actually a music video for it)

A song with a title that ends in y.

Lady by Modjo. From one of those mix cds so the start and end are from other tracks.

A song that makes you crave something.

All I Want by Joni Mitchell. Makes me want roadtrip around the US.

A cover song that you think is better than the original.

[livejournal.com profile] sdwolfpup already did Shatner's Common People, so I'll have to think of something else. There are a surprisingly large amount of these, oddly enough. Despite how much I like the original, I do think that this is an incredible record that takes the original to new heights.

Jimi Hendrix by All Along The Watchtower

The original of #8.

And here's the Bob Dylan original.

A song that reminds you of a fandom OTP.

One True Pair? I don't believe in the concept so I guess it's time for Song for Whoever by The Beautiful South

You have been caught mouthing the lyrics to this song.

Bloodsucker by Deep Purple. I mean, how can you resist going OHHHHH NONONO!!!!!!!! during this chorus?

A song that will always make you think of a movie.

The trick with this one is to think of a song that wasn't actually in the film. Oh I know...

Debaser by Pixies. The film?  Un Chien Andalou, of course.

A song that should totally have fic written about it.

Mr Jones by Counting Crows.

A song you wish they'd play in elevators.

Bring Down the Birds by Herbie Hancock. Heck, I wish they'd play this everywhere as it's just about the finest piece of music ever.

You'll stop listening to this song when they pry your MP3 player out of your cold, dead hands.

Catch 22 by Keasbey Nights. This song seems fitting.
