I've been waiting for this account name to be purged for over 3 years now... LJ have finally gotten off their asses and done some account purging. No more silly 3s in my username!

Yes but more to the point the name became available very recently. Some chick got it before me and made a small number of posts before deleting it... then livejournal failed to purge the deleted account for years. You can only take the name of a deleted account once it is purged.

Oh, whoops, I read the post wrong. I thought you meant they had purged "absolut3destiny" and you had moved over to a new journal (which was obviously not true if one checked the old name).
