Should I care that people keep making videos entitled Shameless ******* Video?

Shameless Techno Video was pretty awful and today Jebadia released Shameless Country Video which at least is an enjoyable amv... but it's not in any way shameless.

I think the main thing that annoys me is that people use the name but not the idea behind it. SRV is a shameless rock video because it contains the clichés which can be found in rock videos - it's not shameless just because it uses rock music.

Neither of the above videos follow this idea, they have just picked the name in a fairly arbitrary manner with little relation to the content of the video. Certainly Jebadia's video could have really done with a non-shameless name as there is nothing shameless about it.

TommyRude once asked me if he could make a Shameless Rap Video. God help us all.

TommyRude would at least be able to pick up on and use the clichés in rap music. The end result would still be quite scary, though.

Personally, I think a "Shameless Ripoff Video" would be rather funny - a completely over-the-top video doing nothing but using other people's somewhat-signature effects and styles. ;)

And I think a "Shameless Rap Video" from Tommy would just scare me....

Funny thing is, I saw Jebadia's video, and I had thoughts similar to what you said after watching it. "It wasn't really shameless at all".

Ok, I remembered what I was going to say.

One would imagine that a "shameless" country video would have two high school sweethearts getting "hitched" at 18 after "fernikatin' in th' back'a daddy's pick-up", having to put their faithful old bloodhound to sleep when it gets so old and fat the mere act of standing threatens to snap it's femurs in half, and ending when the father turns alcoholic upon realizing that his flesh-and-blood son is on Jerry Springer telling the nation that he enjoys being put on a leash and treated like a dog while having lime jello rubbed all over his body by a transexual named Felipe.
