Remastering 4 eva :P

For anyone out there curious as to how much the new japanese remaster of Eva can really be a visual improvement, this might interest you.

I figured that the Eva movies would be the least improved, given that they were mastered from film and apart form the DVDs not being anamorphc they were pretty well put together. The TV series had huge obvious ugly issues, but the movie didnt have all that many. Putting them side by side is an eye-opener.

Sorry to disappoint you but it will cost you more than $300 now. The whole of japan sold out on the week of release, I think.

There's certainly no online store I've seen that still has copies.

trythi: It's already been fairly confirmed that ADV has the rights to this..just wait awhile. Given it still means we gotta re-buy something...stupid Gainax not releasing a good version first.

It's sad that I know what scene that is...it's right before Maya is talking to Misato and she says "Ibuki-desu" right? I don't know why I know this...really..i don't.

I wouldn't be too certain about them getting all of it.

Remeber, Manga Video still have the western rights for the movies and I'd be surprised if it wasn't difficult to just make a new contract for the remastered editions.

I could be wrong, but I could see there being issues... .then there's the dub track and the rights for that. Tricky.
