OK, whoever uses rr.com [specifically cpe-65-28-0-40.kc.rr.com (HELO STEPHANIE) (i.p. adress 65.28.0.40)] REALLY needs to get an anti-virus program and stop using Outlook Express

I'm getting an email form that i.p. every 5 minutes containing a virus.

Hmm...that's hard to say. I use RoadRunner (rr.com), but so do a crapload of people in the US. RoadRunner is basically TimeWarner/AOL, so it could be a ton of people e-mailing you.

I know it's not me since A) that's not my IP and more importantly B) my outlook is closed right now.

I'll scan my computer tonight anyway just in case though.

I have seen though that the virus sends through other e-mail names. MJ said he scanned and he doesn't have it and he knows that the virus looks in your address book and then finds an e-mail and sents it AS that person.

Yeah, I get it from a different person (sometimes an amv creator) but every time it has that i.p. in the header.

Hmm..sounds like someone at that IP has it and the virus is using their address book. Odd.

Too bad it's a major provider and you can't really block. Maybe you can block that ip though.

I've got a pretty good idea who it could be - having searched through the headers of all my emails. There's one which is similar enough from someone I know.

I'm pretty sure Road Runner gives their customers dynamic IPs, so blocking just that IP won't do any good.

actually, I get those emails, too. Today I got 18 of them, but from different people. Maybe it's just a cleverly cloaked worm?
