Org VCA stuff again.

OK I'm going to repeat this info because there's a lot more people than I realised at first count.

In order to qualify for the VCAs you need to:

1) Delete all 100% non-anime videos from your listings using this page.
2) Make sure every video has a known anime and a known music artist. Make changes to existing entries using this page.. "unknown" and "various" will disqualify you as will videos without any anime listed.
3) Make sure you have the "All of my videos have been entered into the catalog" button ticked in your profile.

At the moment the full list of disqualified members is here. Now that's a lot of people - everyone should check to see if you are on the list.

I'm personally of the opinion that everyone ought to just let their videos disqualify them, and leave the VCAs to the geniuses who make it the be all and all of every little thing in their insignificant lives.

But I've got long standing issues, I'm sure.

Jesus, Ian that list is gigantic. Do you actually have to do something with it, or are you just advising us on how to fix things? From the posts you've been making over the past couple of weeks, it sounds like you are busy as hell. If you do need to do anything with that last, or other general gruntwork type things for AMV.org, I'd be happy to help you out...if you need it of course.

Phade wants a clean database, so the rules for entry into the VCA are high this year.

That's basically the long and short of it. I'm just making sure that people who want to be entered realise what they need to do to make sure they qualify.... cause there's some pretty sweet prizes this year :)

I know, this is a big pissing contest and it can bring out the worst in people... but at least this year there's a decent payoff as there are actual prizes and some pretty cool ones at that :)

removed, mostly so Phade can clean up the DB, although personally, given that it was an Anime Music video as opposed to an anime Music Video.. Well Heh, it was just a lark anyways .. :P Better that nobody remember it. :P

Surprised to see my name on that list, though I suppose not looking at why. I assume the major problem for me would be PPG:R, given it's all (with the exception of my effects scenes) The Powerpuff Girls Movie. However, given that it has competed in AMV contest, was one of the few chosen vids shown at Otakon during the MAT3K intermission, and is generally quite well received among the community, I'm quite loath to have to remove it from the Database. What's the best way to handle this?

Of course, I don't know why I'm even worrying about it- everything I've done so far is easily eclipsed by at least a half dozen other videos of the same general nature. :P

Yeah, sorry... PPG is non-anime.

Concessions can't be made based on individual entries. If you have a problem with PPG being non-anime then you'll have to take it up with Phade although if we let it in we have to let in pretty much every western cartoon ever and that's not what the org is about :/

I'm just passing on the info. Phade wants a clean database to make it easier to spot database abuse and is using the VCA as way of getting people off their butts, that's all.
