Wow.... just... wow

Today is a good day.

First of all, I get an incredibly cute e-card from grungettarocks :D

then to top it all off I get a package in the mail. Now, I love packages but this one is really something.

I ordered the first of 2 Rose of Versailles boxsets from Korea and I have to say I am amazed at the quality. This is one of the prettiest boxsets I have ever laid my eyes on. Let me tell you why.

Well first of all there's the price. Each boxets is $72 usd from www.koreandvds.com ... Boxset 1... Boxset 2 and personally I think that's a good price considering the quality... omg the quality.

First of all, the box is velvet and about as gorgeous as you can imagine. The second one is similar but blue, apparently.

The clasp is magnetic and hidden, and it unfolds as follows

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9

Incredible isn't it?

This box has episodes 1 to 20 on 4 dvds in the original japanese with korean subs and then another 4 dvds with the korean edit dub tv version.

Now, all you amv editors out there may well be interested in what the picture quality is like. Well, obvious this is one very old anime and the print has dust and all the other things you'd expect... but it's easily fixable. The best thing about the dvd though... well, I just couldn't believe it when I saw it...

OMFG it's progressive!!

No IVTC required. For an anime TV show that is pretty much unheard of. The only other TV anime I have which is progressive is the Eva Renewal set. I am SO happy I didn't get the european release of the show - dealing with a PAL conversion would have been a crime.

So all in all I'm very happy. I'm just off now to visit a friend who is recovering well in hospital after an appendicitus scare.

Heck, beyond the progressive transfer, that video stream looks damn good for a show from the 1970s.
