I knew people would bitch about the results, saying that this video wasnt as dramatic or this video wasnt funny or whatever. The judges decisions (once it's all been standardised) are final.

I'm very glad the audience didnt vote on that particular bunch of vids... there was a lot of trash parading in glitter this year.

Same thing at ACen. Scintilla would have won three awards if it weren't for the one award per video rule.

For AnimeUSA.. we make an effort (or I at least try to make an effort) to not give more then one award to a single creator. Unless, if it's common rule among the judges, and if it is/was warranted.

However, I think it's unfair to allow one person to go home with 50% of the awards from a contest.. and then have more awards created for the same person. I think this really reflects badly on the judges and contest. Katsu operates that way. I just believe that's an unfair practice. That's why I try to prevent this problem at AnimeUSA.

Yeah, but mine were (presumably) for different videos :P

Kevin Caldwell won all 3 awards at AX one year with different videos (I think) so why can't I? :P

That was one year. Another year he won 3/3, whereupon they put in place the rule that said you could only enter two videos.

I totally disagree. Best of Show is for the *video*, not the creator. I'm not sure where I stand on allowing one video to take both Best of Show and Best Action/Best Drama/Best Whatever, but I certainly think that someone should be allowed to win for more than one video.
