You really did a knockout job here. I would recommend you preserve these notes in a more durable medium than an LJ community thread... just in case. :\
The comparison in character interaction scenes was really striking. I hadn't thought so much about how much the VA's carry these kinds of scenes in anime. It would be interesting to compare a Disney shot since they put a lot more into these kinds of scenes. Tarzan is a recent example with a fair amount of animated facial motion.
I had not seen the legendary Daicon IV video before. What a treat! Is this in fact the original Anime Bunny Girl appearance?
Yes, that vid is the origin of the bunny girl to my knowledge.
As for Disney scenes, I did make brief reference to this (I think) that there is a lot more internal motion but it still has a very exaggerated quality about it. You also have the problem that most of the time they are singing and there is no getting around the fact that they are singing :)
