It's been almost 3 years since I did one of these vid things. Ouch. Well, let's carry on as if that hiatus never happened, shall we?
Running Away by AbsoluteDestiny
It's true when you let it go.
There's not a lot for me to say about this vid - I'm hoping it will speak for itself. It is likely to appeal to fans of stories about growing-up, imagination and the art of creating derivative works in video form. Should be fairly popular themes in these parts.
As with most movie vids, spoilers for the movie are frequent. I do recommend watching the movie first but that shouldn't be a huge barrier to comprehension and enjoyment.
Footage: Son of Rambow (2007)

Lyrics:
Warning... nobody has a damn clue what the lyrics really are. These are what I think they are. It probably doesn't matter anyway.
We shake it...
We take it..
with pride
and show!
We like it...
exciting
and ready
to go!
I'm projecting and reflecting desire
for you to come into my life.
The rays of this day will outshine them all
for me and you to get along.
It's like running away with the wind in our face, it's like flying
(flying!)
and you and I are open wide.
It's like running away with the wind in our face, it's like flying
(flying!)
and you and I are open wide.
I feel so excited and delighted today
'cause you decided to be in my life.
It's like running away with the wind in our face, it's like flying
(flying!)
and you and I are open wide.
The show...
the electric show!
I get around the world upon your freeways
it's true when you let it go.
I get around the world upon your freeways
it's true when you let it go.

Date: 2010-09-01 04:50 am (UTC)I really enjoyed this vid. The editing is so crisp and clear - you communicated the story deftly. I loved the use of colors and the song choice. The exuberance and quirkiness of the young heroes really shines through. I also really loved the undercurrent of optimism that buoyed the vid. :D
I was really worried that the kid with the short blond hair would turn out to be a figment of the other one's imagination and there would be some kind of tragedy. I was grinning like an idiot when they got their happy ending instead. YAY.
And yay new Ian vid! <3 *holds close*

Date: 2010-09-01 08:28 am (UTC)I know what you mean about the figment of imagination idea. It's just such a common narrative that this other person who completes you creatively must obviously be some childish thing you grow out of or someone you can't take with you when you grow up. (I'm looking at you Bridge to Terabithia) I'm in the "things may change you but that doesn't mean those things have to change" camp :)
