I just want to die.
Hayfever symptoms have risen to ridiculous proportions over the last few days. Running nose has finnaly got to my chest, which keeps me awake coughing and choking all night, add to that the fact that my lungs have shrunken to nothing due to the asthmatic reaction and my head is in constant pain from the headaches the coughing has caused.
Despite desperate attempts I dont think I've slept over 10 hours in total all week.
If there's one thing I hate about Oxford it's this. Every summer I just curl up and die. I've never known anywhere as pollenated as this.
I've never understood allergies. Something comes in contact with your body that it just "doesn't like" and causes all these silly side effects as your system goes into a hissy fit. It's just annoying. BAH.
Someone kill me now and put me out of my misery.

Date: 2003-06-23 11:36 am (UTC)I know exactly how you feel...when my family moved down south, suddenly it was like swimming through clouds of pollen. I was incapacitated for days/weeks every allergy season.

As for allergies, have you thought about getting some Allegra or Claritin? Then again, I'm unsure if they have that stuff in the UK. I'd imagine they do. Also, you might wanna see an allergist. Your symptoms seem a bit too severe and might require some mediation like a nose spray or something.

Date: 2003-06-23 11:53 am (UTC)I have 1-a-day relief (your claritin type), nasal spray (which has been doing the most help, to he honest), eye drops, two kinds of asthmatic inhalers (one short term relief the other hormone enhanced 1-a-day), cough syrup for the excess and paracetamol for the headaches.
Short of sticking me in a pollen-filtered oxygen tube with the occasional steaming of my lungs I'm not sure what more I can do.

Date: 2003-06-23 12:38 pm (UTC)Fortunatly it's not as bad in Pittsburgh, because I have major allergies too. Claritin really helps me though.

But yeah, I hear you about the debilitating allergies. I used to get laid up for practically an entire month when I was going to Duke because of the pollen. Hope you feel better soon. Have you ever gotten any allergy shots?
