Iron Chef Wishes

I've been collecting potential songs for Iron Chef recently - basically anything short or anything that can be made short. I don't know the theme yet or the anime that need to be used but I dont really mind.

There's a couple of things I'd really like with Iron Chef, but I dont fancy my chances of getting them.


I think I'd like to get a theme that didn't really specify an Action video. Action videos are fine and everything, and they're not really that hard to make but in order to make a good one it does require fast cutting... which isn't so bad but in the time allowed it's a little stressful. Plus it's hard to make a pure action video have a good impact because there's so many that are just like them.

I would have managed the Fanime theme (guns) and anime (GITS, cagliostro etc) ok but I doubt I'd have made anything worth writing home about. I just dont have that kind of music, really.

I'd like something that would inspire making a different kind of video to the norm. Obviously I dont mean effects - there's little time for that - but... I dunno, just something that would require a different genre of music to most amvs. I think both Hsien and I would react really well to that. Heh, the theme could actually specify a sort of music instead of a visual content - like "the 80s" or something. That would be interesting.

Obviously I'd like Quu to choose his favourite subject as the theme... I could imagine so many good video to that theme, and it's footage I dont have much of - so getting the chance to edit with it would be fun.

Yeah, I'd like to actually enjoy Iron Chef and make something of actual quality. That would be great.

Why stop there? Go for the 60's! Lots o' classic stuff in there.

Actually, editing to 80's music would be really fun. It was a fun era, anyway, and you don't see much of the carefree stuff from the 80's being placed in AMV's.

I understand your feelings, but well...yeah that's up to quu and from what I understand you guys will probably get a harder theme than say Robots since well...it is AWA and I'll be humble in that you guys are better editors :D.

As for having fun, you will have fun...trust me. I had tons, but at the same time it was nerve racking (weird..nerve-racking AND fun). As for quality, not that you might not, but well...it's all in the air. You could get a secret ingredient that works real well (like the Iron Giant for me) or one that is horrible (Tokyo Babylon). Therefore, I guess...it's nice to wish things, but at the same time...shit happens :-D

Good luck (although I'm realizing if you win, that means I'm the only US Iron Chef, since Tim won at Fanime, and I'd imagine that would make vgp or quu think of some interesting foreign opponents for me)!
