I'm not sure what I think of this to be honest. My first reaction is bad.

I mean, having to win an award to be in a contest is one thing but being invited to a contest with better prizes?

It just smells of the ever-afeared word "Elitism" and could cause a lot of arguments.

Yeah he is, but Matt Pyson will be helping him quite a bit.

I posted to the thread, but think I also need to think about it some more. It's definitely going to cause some discussion (the idea of it that is).

YES, my point exactly... If you're going to step up to the plate of the biggest AMV contest, I have higher expectations then from someone running a small first time contest.. Personall I agree here that is Masters ideas is bad. ironically I was told Otakon did not want to add any more catagories to the AMV contest nor buget more money for it.. And now this! And bigger prizes?? What gives? Why not just imporve the current contest and not try to turn it into the "poor Man's" version. Personally If I am on the "invited list", I not sure I would like to enter into such a contest... I prefer to just go into the normal onw with everyone else.
