Transformers TV
Transformers the Movie
Transformers: Armada
Transformers Car Robots
Transformers: Robots in Disguise

These are all forms of Transformers listed on the org. What I need to know is

a) What are the official western titles?
b) Are any of the above listings duplicates?
c) Are any of them not produced in Japan and would not be classed as anime?

Thanks in advance :)

Car Robots is RiD.

Transformers "TV" is basically just Transformers, unless you mean the version with the spliced-in CGI (that's Transformers Generation Two) -- and no one wants that stuff.

"Transformers: The Movie" is how it's usually rendered.

To the best of my knowledge, only the CGI Beast Wars and Beast Machines were animated outside of Japan, although everything up until the Headmasters fork had heavy American involvement. (I don't track that continuity, but Beast Wars also had an anime.) Whether or not they're anime is a matter for stupid-ass pedantry, IMO.

I believe Transformers TV is called Transformers 2010, but don't quote me on that..

Robots in Disguise is Car Robots as I recall...

Far as I know, all have been done in Japan... though Armada.. something nagging about that one....

Will consult comics for more info

Despite what people might claim, the animated T:RiD is an American creation. Hasbro bought the rights to Japanese company's Takara's line of Microman toys and rechristened it Transformers. To introduce american kids to the renamed toyline, Hasbro commissioned a a three parter called More Than Meets the Eye from Sunbrow. More Than Meets the Eye first aired on Sept 17, 1984. The overwhelming response from kids made Transformers a ongoing series The Transformer cartoon was also released in Japan as “Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers!” with many but with many name changes The cartoon over there was the same as here more or less until the end of 1985. An episode called 'Scramble City' was made by the Japanese to help bridge between season 2 and season 3, but was never shown in the U.S.

The movie was also commission by Hasbro to help bolster interest in Transformers new line of futuristic transforer toys "Transformers 2006".

By 1987, interest in the toy line had begun to wane in the U.S. and Hasbro discontinued and the TV seres. however, the Japanese continued making transformer episodes with a new season taking place theoretically after season 4 called Transforers: HeadMasters, several other seasons with different titles followed such as Transformers Supergod Master Force, Transformers: Victory, Transformers: Zone, etc.

From what I understand of it, Transformers: Armada and Transformers: Car Robots are the same thing, though I'm certain someone will know.

With the exception of the CG 'Beast Wars' series, all Transformer titles made following Season 4 of T: RiD should be classed as 'anime' as they were fully written and produced by the Japanese.

Also, Transformers: TV is a duplicate listing of T:RiD.

it would seem that I might be wrong.

Transforers continuity is a mess...

Here's a handy guide: the original TF TV series (which us fanboys call "Generation 1" or G1"), TF:TM, Beast Wars, and Beast Machines all take place in the same continuity. RiD is a stand-alone series, while the upcoming Transformers: Energon takes place in the new continuity established during Armada.

Transformers: TV - Original series. Commissioned by Hasbro, drawn by Koreans. Now if we are considering anything drawn by Korean's non-anime, about 1/2 of your Anime TV shows would be non-Anime. Season 3 was commissioned by Japanese interests after the success of Transformers: The Movie in the Japan.

Transformers: The Movie - Theatrical released movie that fills in the gaps between Season 2 oand Season 3 of Transformers: TV.

Transformers: Car Robots and Transformers: RiD are the same series. RiD is the westernized title.

Transformers: Armada is the most recent series.
